Get ready for year two of Disney Musicals in Schools!
Registration for this year’s program of Disney Musicals in Schools is open! This is an after-school program available to students in grades third through sixth. Practices will be held after school on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 pm to 5 pm. This year’s musical will be one of the six shows: 101 Dalmatians, Aladdin, The Aristocats, Frozen, The Lion King, or Winnie the Pooh.
Students selected for the program will find out what this year’s show is at the first practice which will take place on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. The performance will take place on Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4, 2024. Students who are interested in participating must apply.
All student applications are due no later than Friday, December 8, 2023.
Disney Musicals in Schools is a prestigious program that develops sustainable musical theatre programs in public elementary schools. Six public elementary schools in Allegheny County that have Title 1 will be selected each year to participate in the program free of charge. Last year, Wilkinsburg was selected and performed the 30-minute Disney KIDS musical of The Jungle Book.
