The Wilkinsburg School District is excited to welcome students back for the 2025-2026 school year! The first day for students in Grades 1-6 is Tuesday, September 2. All Pre-K and Kindergarten students will attend a mandatory orientation on Tuesday, September 2, with their first official day of school on Wednesday, September 3.
Arrival and Dismissal:
- Building doors open at 8:20 a.m., and students can enjoy free breakfast in the cafeteria as soon as they arrive.
- Classes begin promptly at 8:40 a.m., so please ensure students arrive on time, ready to learn.
- Dismissal is at 3:20 p.m. Please plan to pick up your child on time so we can ensure a safe and orderly dismissal for all students.
Pre-K and Kindergarten Orientation:
Before the first official day of school for Pre-K and Kindergarten on Wednesday, September 3, all students and their parents are required to attend a mandatory orientation on Tuesday, September 2, at Kelly Primary. Orientation will last approximately two hours, after which parents and children will go home.
Families should enter through the main doors and begin orientation in the gym with a brief district-wide presentation. Following the presentation, families will have the opportunity to circulate the room and connect with both school staff and community partners to learn more about the resources available to support their child's success.
Orientation Schedule:
- Pre-K (Last Names A-L): 10:00 a.m.
- Kindergarten: 11:00 a.m.
- Pre-K (Last Names M-Z): 1:00 p.m.
