The Wilkinsburg Board of School Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Sheila Reed as the Coordinator of School Safety, Security, and Federal Programs.
With more than 20 years of experience in education, Mrs. Reed has served as a math, science, and computer science teacher across multiple grade levels. Most recently, she has worked as an administrator for the past two years.
“You have to inspect, what you expect!” Mrs. Reed shared. Having relocated to Pittsburgh from Atlanta over a decade ago, she is a strong believer in servant leadership and looks forward to serving the Wilkinsburg community.
Mrs. Reed holds a Principal Leadership Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh, an Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Technology from the University of West Georgia, a Master’s in Information Technology from American Intercontinental University, and a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
“Mrs. Reed brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and dedication to this new role,” said Superintendent Dr. Jocelyn Artinger. “Her background and commitment to student success will be a tremendous asset to our district and community.”
Mrs. Reed lives in Penn Hills with her husband of 29 years, Randy. She is also the proud mother of two children: Christina, a psychiatric nurse, and Israel, a graduate student. In her free time, she enjoys movies, reading, and dining at her favorite restaurants—Applebee’s and Outback Steakhouse.
