About Our Principal - Kerry McClellan
Mrs. Kerry McClellan is proud to serve as the Principal of Turner Intermediate School and is a dedicated member of the Wilkinsburg School District Administrative Team.
Mrs. McClellan began her career in education with Pittsburgh Public Schools before joining the Wilkinsburg School District in August 2009 as the Director of Special Education. In 2015, she became the Principal of Kelly Primary School. She transitioned into her current role at Turner Intermediate in January 2022, following the appointment of Dr. Joe Maluchnik, former Turner Principal (2019–2021), as Superintendent.
Mrs. McClellan holds a Master of Education in Special Education from the University of Pittsburgh, along with a K-12 Special Education Supervision and Administration Certificate from Duquesne University. In December 2017, she earned her Superintendent's Letter of Eligibility from California University of Pennsylvania (now PennWest California). She is actively involved in several education and professional organizations at both the local and national levels.
As an instructional leader, Mrs. McClellan is committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and student-centered environment where all children can thrive. She believes in the power of strong partnerships between families, staff, and the community to help every student reach their full potential, both academically and socially. Her mission is to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed in and out of the classroom through meaningful learning experiences and community engagement.
